Hours before the sun rose,
they watched the stars blur, shine, and glow,
falling in and out of existence
for the stars rarely come in abundance
and it was time to watch the eternal supply
of dreams dispersed among the sky.
They were simply existing
through empty thoughts and endless sighs.
Together, they dreamt of a day in Neverland.
Here, bad thoughts were evil and therefore banned.
From this point in time, nothing mattered—
nothing except the idealistic idea of forever.
They promised not to leave, not once, not ever.
But just as they found their way to paradise,
reality found them, asking for a price.
The ground sank beneath them,
the ground left behind them.
Up ahead were only their duties
as sensibility would condemn.
Their world was watered down by misery;
the depths of their world became a memory.
