If you want us to publish you, but do not want be a staff member, you have two options. You can apply to be featured on our blog or in our upcoming Issue.
BLOG FEATURE
We accept poetry, art, photography, personal essays, opinion editorials, short stories, and videography. You may apply for a blog feature at any time. If your application is successful, you will receive an update within 72 hours. If you don't receive an email update, we have decided against publishing your submission.
JOIN OUR TEAM
We onboard new staff four times a year: September, December, March, and June. Being a CLM Staff gives you invaluable, structured experience in literary publishing.
Here is what our onboarding process looks like:
1) POSITIONS
Coexist has 3 departments: Marketing, Blog Development, and Issue Development. Within these there are various positions, such as Designer, Writer, Editor, and SMGD. Here's a more comprehensive list: https://tinyurl.com/coexist-staff-roles
2) WRITTEN APPLICATION

3) INTERVIEW SCHEDULING
Please wait 1-3 days after the application deadline for us to contact you to schedule a short virtual call. If you have not received an email 4 days after the deadline, please reach out to us via email.
4) INTERVIEW DETAILS
Our Editor in Chief and Managing Editor will hop on a virtual zoom call with you. This will be very informal and chill⏤no need to stress! They'll just ask a few short questions about your application, availability, interests, etc.
5) POST-INTERVIEW
After your interview, our Executives will determine if and where you fit in at CLM. Please wait 2 days to hear back from us. If you have not received an email after this time, please reach out through email.
6) IF YOU'RE ACCEPTED
In your congratulatory email, we will send you an invite link for the Coexist Discord server. By accepting our invitation, you agree to a 3 month commitment. Your first task will be to send us a picture of yourself to put on our website. You will soon after be contacted about your upcoming project deadlines. After 3 months, you'll submit a form either extending or ending your staff membership.
PUBLISHING RIGHTS
Coexist only considers unpublished works. This means we will only publish works that have not appeared in any form of print or digital media, including public blogs. If you are unsure whether your work qualifies, send us an email.
Coexist acquires first-time electronic rights, meaning that your accepted work must first be published by Coexist. We reserve the right to republish your work in a future electronic anthology. All other rights revert to the author three months after publication. In case of republication, we ask that you cite Coexist as the original place of publication.
